What information Arctos collects and why
Information from web browsers
If you’re just browsing the site, we collect some basic information
like your IP, user-agent string, etc. (Formally, we simply use the
default nginx combined log configuration). This is info we collect
from everybody, whether they have an account or not.
This helps us better understand how our visitors use Arctos, and to monitor and protect the security of the website.
Information from users with accounts
If you use Google to sign in to Arctos, we are given access to your email address, but not your password or any other personal information. We do not share or sell your email address to third parties. If you do not use Google to sign in, we are only given information you explicitly enter– your username, display name, etc. We do not have access to your password.
We use your display name and username to personalize your experience with Arctos and to identify you across devices and sessions.
What information Arctos does not collect
We do not intentionally collect any sensitive personal information, such as social security numbers, genetic data, health information, or religious information.
If you’re a child under the age of 13, you may not have an account on Arctos. Arctos does not knowingly collect information from or direct any of our content specifically to children under 13. If we learn or have sufficient reason to suspect that you are a user who is under the age of 13, we will have to close your account.
How we share the information we collect
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user personal information with third parties.
